The first connection I had with guitar was with Keith Richards and Jimi Hendrix. I distincly remember getting up at 6 in the morning, blasting out Brown Sugar and running around the living room with a purple toy guitar from the Early Learning Center.
I have been fascinated ever since and I persued my interest through my school years. At the age of 14 I was asked if I would like to play with the county youth jazz orchestra and this step altered my view on guitar and music dramatically. Being in this environment around so many passionate students and teachers moved me to become enamored with jazz and improvisation.
After years of study and performances in the South West, I was accepted to Birmingham Conservatoire. Here I really delved deep into jazz guitar and composition. I also travelled in my 3rd year to Denmark through the Erasmus exchange program.
After finishing my degree, I moved to Denmark and have been a resident since 2014. Since moving I have really focused on teaching, which is something I have come to really enjoy. As well as teaching, I compose, perform and sing in a Church choir as a bass singer.
